RiScattiamo la scienza

RiScattiamo la scienza is an exhibition that originates from the homonymous photographic competition organised by the National Research Council of Italy within the celebrations of the 90th anniversary since its foundation (2013).

It is an exhibition of photographs shot by scientists - employees and associates of CNR – that describe the scientific and institutional activities of the most important Italian public research organisation, showing the researchers’ enthusiasm for their work and, at the same time, the 'aesthetic' beauty of science: from the lights of a laser beam mingled with the Aurora Borealis in the skies of the Arctic, to a researcher pictured during a break in a fishing trip; from the futuristic titanium oxide nanopetals to the strength of the hydroplane at the time of takeoff.

All images, with their simplicity and beauty, make the life of researchers visible and accessible to the general public, showing their dedication and revealing the most unexpected aspects of their daily activity. The competition, that will be opened again in the future, the exhibition and each single image shall be an invitation to all public and private institutions for a stronger and more determined commitment to research and researchers and a way to change the image of science perceived as prestigious yet sometimes too distant from society.
