Mission
In the framework of the three-year activity plan of CNR, the Institute carries out research, innovation, technology transfer and education activities in the following main thematic areas:
a) Techniques, technologies and safety of buildings and infrastructures;
b) New generation of advanced materials, components and technologies for safe and high-performance constructions;
c) Sustainable solutions and technologies for energy efficiency, environmental quality and acoustics in buildings and urban areas;
d) Risk, vulnerability, damage and resilience of buildings in seismic prone areas, architectural restoration and townscape protection;
e) Methods and tools for survey, analysis, representation and modelling activities for the requalification and improvement of the built environment and the historical architectural heritage;
f) Digital environments for planning, executing and managing architectural works and restoration sites;
g) Air-conditioning, heating, cooling and technological equipment for constructions: systems, technologies and materials for energy efficiency;
h) ICT support to the regeneration of urban areas and the enhancement of both tangible and intangible Cultural Heritage;
i) Life-long training and information dissemination in the construction sector and Digital Learning solutions.
