The implementation of synergistic activities among the three components (CNR, the University--including its centers of excellence such as CEINGE--and the University Hospital), while respecting their respective autonomies, represents a key condition for improving both research and its impact on population health at the national and international levels. This perspective will benefit from the fact that the Institute has recently become the host of two major infrastructures--BBMRI (Biobanking and Biomolecular Resources Infrastructure) and Euro-BioImaging--which, thanks to the strengthening provided by the PNRR, have acquired a strategic role in biomedical research. The change in the Institute's name reflects the need to highlight the quantum leap required to adapt to new organizational and scientific scenarios and objectives, while still preserving its origins and historical path.
