Abstract

The work plan of the third core project is divided into 15 scientific and technical work packages, grouped in four research and innovation divisions, and supported by four work packages on innovation, dissemination, management and industrialisation. The Graphene Flagship's resources are distributed through the work packages to base activities addressing technology development (EUR 88.3 million), to spearhead activities that pursue specific market-motivated breakthroughs in narrowly defined applications (EUR 44.6 million) and support activities (EUR 17.1 million).
The spearhead projects, which have a combined budget of EUR 44.6 million, were introduced in the second core project and have now been substantially expanded. They are a step in the Graphene Flagship's ambition to gradually move to higher technology readiness levels. We have selected ten technological spearhead projects and have launched a call for an eleventh spearhead that examines the health and safety aspects related to the other spearheads.
