Profile

Francesco Petracchini has obtained the Environmental engineering degree in University Sapienza of Rome in 2002 and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences in University Ca Foscary in 2013 with a thesis on air quality pollution in China in the city of Shanghai.
He has long experience in research on environment in fact he started in 2003 his activities in CNR-IIA (National Research Council Institute of Atmospheric Pollution Research) working one year as support of the Italian Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea on the adoption of the European legislation on air pollution.
He was project leader for several projects in air quality monitoring in chinese cities in the framework of the sino italian cooperation, in details, in Shanghai he studied the impact on air quality of the construction site activities, he participated also in the assessment activities in Beijing during the Olympic games and in the city of Urumqi in the Xinjiang Province.
From 2009 he is the responsible of the Planning Department in CNR-IIA and actually he is the PM of several project related to renewable energies and air pollution control in urban context in Italy. He was also the leader of the bioenergy group at CNR-IIA. The team is involved national an international projects on bioenergy and the circular economy topic.
Francesco Petracchini established numerous national and international collaborations with companies and research institutions on enviroment monitoring and protection. He has great knowledge about issues related to air and environmental pollution in general and great management experience in national and international context.
