Expertise

The ISGI competences embrace the whole of international law, i.e. public international law, the law of international institutions, European Union law.

In this framework, ISGI researchers possess specializing competences in the following fields:
- Detection of customary norms of international law
- Application of treaties and unwritten international law at the state law level
- Law of international organizations, with a focus on the law of the United Nations
- Law of integration processes (Europe, Latin-America) and unification of law
- Human rights protection in international and national law, focusing on the rights of vulnerable persons (children, persons with disabilities, migrants, refugees and asylum seekers)
- International humanitarian law
- International law of the environment and sustainable development
- Law of the sea
- Space law
- International and comparative agricultural law
