Profile

Roberto Scopigno is the director of the Institute since April 1st, 2019. Scopigno served as the former leader of the Visual Computing Lab of CNR-ISTI, a research lab that he contributed to found in mid 1990.
He was engaged in research projects concerned with 3D graphics and visual technologies, with main application to Cultural Heritage. He published more than 250 papers in international journals or conferences, with Google Scholar h-index 52 and more than 12K citations.
He participated to 25+ EC projects on ICT technologies and served as Editor in Chief of ACM J. on Computing and Cultural Heritage and Wiley Computer Graphics Forum.
He has been the recipient of the several awards: "Distinguished Career Award 2014" and "Outstanding Technical Contribution Award 2008" issued by the Eurographics Association, "Tartessos Award 2011" by the Spanish Society on Virtual Archeology.(SEAV).
