Abstract
The lack of any effective therapeutic application for the control of Xylella fastidiosa in infected plants, calls for continuos research efforts for the identification of formulations/compounds that can inibhit Xylella multiplication in the host plants, i.e. with biocidal, antimicrobial or antibiofilm activity.
Given the recent emergence of the bacterial infections in several southern Europe countries, and the large number of European susceptible host plants, extensive experimental programs are ongoing with the aim of selecting potential antimicrobial compounds to be used to « cure » infected plants. Testing procedures include a first step of screening the effectiveness of the candidate products in vitro, by evaluating the capability to inhibit bacterial growth in solid and agar media.
Goals
L'attività avrà l'obiettivo di valutare in vitro l'efficacia di alcuni composti chimici fornito dalla ditta INVAIO (OTC, streptomycin, tetracycline hydrate, doxycycline, MaSAMP and ND01/1 2021) contro Xylella fastidiosa subsp. Pauca ST53 in vitro.
