Abstract
Development of a Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) based device shall allow material testing as described in ECSS-Q-TM-70-52. This device will be used in the ESTEC test method in order to measure study the kinetics of the outgassing of a sample and of the deposition of the contaminants under vacuum. According to the test procedure described in ECSS-Q-TM-70-52, the deveice should have
the following characteristics:
Capability to measure CVCM and TML
QCM equipped with a heater and a cooling element
QCM composed of two crystals (one for mass collection, one for reference), oscillator electronics and a temperature sensor
Sensitivity of 1.96·10-9 g Hz-1 cm-2
Operative temperature range between -75°C and 80°C and operations at LiN2 temperature
Heating rate of the quartz crystal of 1°C/min
Start date of activity
27/09/2017
Keywords
