Abstract

Autophagy is one of the major responses to stress in eukaryotic cells and is implicated in several pathological conditions such as infections, neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.
In this contest, the present project aims to evaluate the role of the MAPK1/ERK2, MAPK8/JNK, MAPK14/p38 and MAPK15/ERK8 members,already described to be involved in the control of the autophagic process, on cancer development and progression.

Goals

Our aim is to ascertain the role of ERK8/MAPK15 in cell physiology and, particularly, in human cancer.
