Using inter-disciplinary and translational approaches over the past 30 years, research activity has focused in the cardio-endocrine-metabolic area. The last 15-20 years were mostly dedicated to understanding the pathogenic role and clinical implications of mild thyroid dysfunction on cardiac disorders.
