Institute for Genetic and Biomedical Research (IRGB)

Training

The Institute of Genetic and Biomedical Research offers a comprehensive training program for students, PhD candidates, research fellows, postdocs researchers, and early-career scientists at both national and international levels, contributing to the development of highly qualified scientific and technological skills.

This training commitment is implemented through the supervision of undergradate and master's theses, PhD programs, research fellowships, and specialized training contracts, as well as through scientific mentoring in box experimental and project-based activities. The institute's staff is also involved in teaching activities within university courses, contributing to academic training in disciplines related to genetics, biomedicine, and life sciences.

In addition to academic training, the Institute carries out extensive science communication and outreach activities targeted at schools. For primary and lower secondary schools, initiatives are organized to promote scientific culture, while for high schools, School-Work Training (FSL) programs, internships, and laboratory mentoring activities are offered, with the goal of introducing students to the scientific method and research careers.

Researchers actively participate in public engagement and dissemination initiatives, such as the European Researchers' Night, scientific events, and meetings with patient associations and volunteers aimed at raising awareness on research-related topics.
