The Oil Crops Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Ocri-Caas) in collaboration with the Institute of Sciences of Food Production, National Research Council of Italy (Cnr-Ispa), under the aegis of the MycoKey project, is hosting a one-week Workshop-Training Course on 'Rapid Methods for Mycotoxin Detection in the Food/Feed Chain' from November 18-22, 2019.

The course will give information about major issues associated with mycotoxin analysis and contamination along the food/feed chain. Lectures and laboratory training will be provided on routinely used and advanced screening tools for rapid, robust and user-friendly analysis of mycotoxins.

Practical training in the laboratory will cover most of the course and trainees will be assisted individually in the laboratory by Ocri-Caas experts in instrumental and immunochemical analysis of mycotoxins.

The course covers:

  • Lectures: Mycotoxins/toxigenic fungi: occurrence, risks and regulations; Sampling and overview of traditional and rapid methods for mycotoxin detection; LC-MS methods for multi-mycotoxin analysis.
  • Laboratory: Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay; Strip test and Lateral Flow Device; Fluorescence Polarization Immunoassay; Time-Resolved Fluorescence Immunoassay; Biochip Array Technology; Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry.
