Abstract
The key principle of SOCIALIZE is the ambition to create a complete technological solution which fulfils effectively the general objectives of this third call of the AAL programme. With a decidedly operative approach, SOCIALIZE will simplify the modalities with which elderly people have access to dedicated services, with particular focus on the age group from 55 ton 80 with a basic or already consolidated knowledge of Information Technologies and use of electronic devices, already accessing internet services and knowing at least basic computer fundamental because of their working experience or everyday job, living in a technology-served environment. This segment will become more and more consistent in numerical terms in the following decades when todays 40 year-olds will have aged, having a basic or advanced knowledge of Information Technologies and use of electronic devices.
Obiettivi
The project SOCIALIZE develops itself in three technologic macro areas as it foresees to implement:
o a service-oriented software architecture to supply network services with cloud computing modalities,
o a set of user interfaces and access devices to optimize the experience of using the services that are available in the network for first level end-users (elderly people)
o a set of software tools to implement services. The tools will be available to social organizations, which will enable them to implement and provide their services through the SOCIALIZE platform.
This approach will allow elderly people to make use of services provided by organizations, in which they are already used to interact with, as the latter will be able to transfer their services, easily and swiftly, on the net without facing long periods of training and complicated changing processes. In addition, the SOCIALIZE platform will offer information and entertainment content geared to the needs and interests of elderly people, content which will be provided in a barrier-free and user friendly way tailored to this age group and across the different SOCIALIZE devices.
