Abstract
In LIFE-BioLubridge project a new sustainable process treatment of raw urban sewage sludge will be designed and tested. The output treatment process will allow to obtain a reduction of the amounts of final residual sludge to be disposed of, while the lipid phase present in the initial sewage sludge is recovered and converted into biolubricants. Therefore, two main environmental problems will be targeted: sludge treatment and need for clean biolubricants generation without overuse of virgin natural resources. This alternative method to obtain such lubricants from biosources or biowaste, would lower the environmental impact of these products in agreement with principles of Circular Economy.
