Abstract
The current decision path for suspected coronary artery disease (CAD) is m ainly focused
on the identification of high-grade coronary lum en stenosis to select patients who m ay
benefit from m yocardial revascularization. However, acute events often occur in patients
who have been m isclassified as "low risk" because they do not present risk factors and/or
an inducible m yocardial ischem ia.
The m ain hypothesis to be tested is whether there are specific individual
genom ics/epigenom ics/transcriptom ics patterns whose co-occurrence with high-risk
atherosclerotic plaque features can identify different subclasses of coronary
atherosclerosis.
We thus aim to identify (a) associations between individual m ulti-om ics profile and severity
of coronary atherosclerosis and (b) com bined om ics and im aging biom arkers predicting
disease progression and/or incident events at m edium -term follow-up.
