Abstract
The VRACE project aims to assist teachers in learning how to utilize innovative ICT technologies like virtual reality and Web 2.0 tools and social media in their courses to assist students' learning and knowledge construction.
The main target groups of the project are the following:
1. Teachers of primary/secondary public/private schools.
2. Policymakers in school education
3. Authorities in charge of school education
4. Organizations, associations and institutes involved in school education
5. Students of primary/secondary public/private schools
Goals
The project aims to respond to the need for modernizing and achieving more efficient School Education through the use of innovative and efficient ICT. The project will develop a methodology and various e-courses targeted to school teachers, to train them on how to integrate ICT, social media, Web 2.0 and 3D virtual worlds in courses.
Various courses will be designed to train teachers on various topics on using ICT.
The platform will offer to teachers participating in the pilot activities the ability to prepare and include their own courses as well as interested teachers after the end of the project. the partners will prepare courses on STEM (physics and maths) and virtual laboratories that will be hosted on the game-based virtual reality educational environment and could be used by schools, teachers and students.
