Abstract
The aim of this project is to perform coordination and research activities within the ESA/MOST Dragon IV (D4) project 32394 entitled "Integrated analysis of the combined risk of ground subsidence sea level rise, and natural hazards in coastal delta regions" and, in particular, within the subproject 32394_1 entitled "DEtection and Interpretation of Time Evolution of Costal Environments Through integrated DInSAR, GPS and geophysical surveys". The object of the proposed activity is the organization/coordination of the work of senior scientists involved in the linked D4 project, as well as the selection, training and organization of the European young scientists (YS) to be actively engaged in the 32394 D4 project. From the technical point of view, the envisaged analyses will involve the study and characterization of coastal areas environments in China, and possibly in Europe, that are subject to serious flood risks. Selected areas in China are, in particular, the two delta regions of Yangtze River (YR) and Pearl River (PR). Other coastal areas in Europe that are potentially subject to serious sea-level-rise risk, such as the Po river delta in Italy, will be taken into consideration.
Goals
The project aims to create a framework to coordinate research activities on geospatial analyses through remote sensing techniques between CNR, ESA and the East China Normal University.
