Description
Food Bacteria Identification by Mass Spectrometry FoodBIMS is a database of mass spectral data of intact bacteria created at the Institute of Food Science, CNR, Avellino, Italy. While the data may be useful for the molecular characterization of bacteria, the database is aimed to develop a method (protocol) (strategy) for the rapid identification of bacterial species, in particular for relevant food contaminants, a research area of growing interest. Up to now, in this database are present bacteria, belonging to 11 different genera (Escherichia, Listeria, Yersinia, Staphylococcus, Salmonella, Microccocus, Morganella, Pseudomonas, Proteus, Sarcina, Lactobacillus) including 24 different species. The number of species will increase during the time and the addition of new data from different laboratories will be implemented soon.
