The International Cell Senescence Association (ICSA) and the Phaedon Institute will jointly host two major scientific meetings dedicated to aging and therapeutic innovation. The 10th Annual ICSA Conference and the 2nd Phaedon Institute SenoTherapeutics Summit will take place from September 16-19, 2025, at the National Research Council (CNR) in Rome.
ICSA is a global, non-profit scientific society that promotes research into the mechanisms and consequences of cellular senescence — a fundamental biological process linked to aging and age-related diseases. Through its annual conference, ICSA provides an international forum for scientists to present cutting-edge findings and foster collaborations across disciplines.
The Phaedon Institute is a think tank dedicated to advancing senescence therapeutics and healthy aging. By convening leaders from academia, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, investment, and regulatory fields, the Institute aims to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into therapies that address the challenges of aging populations.
The events are expected to attract 300 leading scientists, clinicians, and representatives from biotechnology, pharmaceutical, investment, and regulatory sectors. Together, they will review recent advances in the study of cellular senescence, explore the therapeutic potential of emerging discoveries, and assess strategies to address the increasing burden of age-related diseases.
The four-day program will include keynote lectures, symposia, panel discussions, and networking sessions. Particular emphasis will be placed on translational research and the development of therapeutic interventions targeting senescent cells and age-associated pathologies.
“The joint hosting of the ICSA Conference and the SenoTherapeutics Summit provides a unique forum for the exchange of knowledge and the building of strategic collaborations,” said the organizing committee. “Our aim is to bridge fundamental science and clinical application, accelerating the path toward therapies that can improve health outcomes in aging populations.”
The initiative reflects a growing recognition of the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of aging research, where scientific, clinical, and industry perspectives must converge to enable effective therapeutic development.
The event will be opened by a welcome address of Antonio Cerasa, PhD, Acting Director Department of Biomedical Sciences of the National Research Cuoncil of Italy (Cnr-Dsb).
