Mini-Symposium: Epigenetics and crop improvement
Il 19/05/2022 ore 09.00 - 17.00
Online
Research on plant epigenetics helps to understand how endogenous, biotic, and abiotic factors might regulate plant growth, development, and interaction with the environment independent of changes in the genome sequence. Often, the epigenetic changes are heritable across several generations and harmonize plant growth and crop tolerance in response to environmental stimuli.
The Mini-Symposium will cover some of these topics and relate them to possible applications for new breeding strategies for crop improvement.
The event is part of the EpiCass and CassavaNet4Dev projects, funded by the Swedish Reasearch Council, and coordinated by researchers of the Swedish University of Agriculture (SLU-Uppsala, Sweden), National Research Counsil of Italy (CNR-IPSP, CNR-ITB, Bari, Italy), University of Fribourg (Switzerland) and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA-Ibadan, Nigeria).
