The general focus of the Conference, organized by the MaX European Centre of Excellence on Materials Design at the eXascale, is on scientific advances in computational materials research, as well as future developments in the exascale perspective.
The program will include sessions with invited speakers only plus a dedicated poster session on topics including – but not limited to -:

  • Scientific advances in materials research exploiting high-performance computing
  • High-throughput computing for materials discovery
  • New avenues from data analytics / artificial intelligence in materials science
  • Trends in high performance computing and codesign towards exascale
  • New algorithms for first principles simulation

Participation in ICTP activities is by application. If you wish to apply to this activity, please click on the "Apply here" link in the left menu (site http://indico.ictp.it/event/8004/). You will be notified about the outcome of your application in due time.
There are no registration fees, unless otherwise indicated.
Accommodation is available on a first-come first-served basis in the ICTP Guesthouses on campus. Room rates and other details can be found here. If you are selected for participation you will receive instructions regarding accommodation in the invitation letter.
Participants from developing countries (see list here), particularly those at the early stages of their career, can apply for grants to support their participation. Grants can cover local costs and/or travel costs, as indicated in the application form. ICTP encourages the participation of female scientists.
