EuroNNAc and EuPRAXIA Workshop on a European Plasma Accelerator with Excellence in Applications
Dal 29/06/2016 ore 09.00 al 01/07/2016 ore 13.00
Area della Ricerca CNR, Pisa, Italy
The design and science cases of novel plasma accelerators are subject of intense studies. Progress in proof-of-principle experiments has led to the expectation that ground-breaking applications of plasma accelerators are to be expected in the next years.
The workshop in Pisa inviting the communities of conventional facilities, lasers and novel accelerators, discussing the unique opportunities for our fields from such a design study. It will bring together the initial EuPRAXIA project team, EuroNNAc network participants and interested scientists to collect input from all parties and to base this effort deeply into the interests of our communities.
The Horizon2020 Design Study 'European Plasma Research Accelerator with eXcellence In Applications' (EuPRAXIA) was approved by the EU in 2015 and is the 2nd such study on future accelerator infrastructures in Horizon2020.
EuPRAXIA aims at a highly compact and cost-efficient, 5 GeV electron accelerator with pilot users from various fields of applications (including photon science, HEP detector R&D, medical applications and industrial usages).
This meeting will be sponsored by INO-CNR, INFN, the European Network for Novel Accelerators (FP7/EuroNNAc2), the European Coordination of Accelerator R&D project (FP7/EuCARD2) and the Horizon2020 EU Design Study EuPRAXIA, and is open to all interested parties.
Deadline for registration is May 31, 2016.
