To further enhance the out-reach activities of the Combustion Institute and to foster a new generation of combustion scientists, CI initiates the International Combustion Institute Summer Schools, ICISS.
After a successful pilot arrangement in Lund 2013, the Second ICISS will be held both in Europe and South America, specifically Italy and Brazil, with the aim to attract the participation of young combustion researchers from all over the world.
The Second ICISS organized in Italywill be hostin the area of the city of Napoli, specifically in the Procida island located in the Naples gulf, in the week 31 May - 5 June, 2015.
The school is organized with ex-cathedra lectures and plenty of time for discussion forum. The aim is to provide the next generation of combustion researchers with a comprehensive knowledge in combustion theory (chemical kinetic and fluid-dynamic), computation, and applications. Social activities organized among lectures and lab visits will give ample time for networking among the students. Participants will have the opportunity to present their work in a poster session in connection to the social events.
