3rd International Open Workshop on Local-Scale Airborne Hazards Modeling and Emergency Response - COST Action ES1006
Il 09/05/2014 ore 09.00 - 17.00
Aula Marconi, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Piazzale Aldo Moro 7, Roma
Releases of hazardous agents in complex built environments pose a tremendous challenge to emergency first responders and authorities in charge due to the large number of casualties potentially involved. Air motions in built-up areas are very complex and adequate modelling tools have to be applied properly in order to predict the dispersion of hazardous materials with sufficient accuracy within a very short time. Different types of tools are applied; however, it is not always clear what the advantages and limitations of individual model approaches are. COST Action ES1006 is aiming for evaluation, improvement and guidance for the use of local-scale emergency response tools for airborne hazards in built environments. As a part of the Actions activities, annual open workshops are organized to bring together scientists, stakeholders, decision makers and users of local-scale airborne hazards modelling tools for discussion of the state-of-the-art in local-scale release and dispersion modelling.
We invite stakeholders, decision makers, practitioners and scientists active in the field of development and use of local-scale airborne hazards modelling.
Workshop participation is free of charge. Since the number of participants is limited, nonbinding pre-registration is required. Pre-registered participants will receive further detailed information on the workshop program. To register for the workshop, please send an email-message with relevant contact data (at least name, affiliation, email) to costes1006@isac.cnr.it. Further information on how to reach the venue as well as information on accommodation near the CNR is provided at the website http://www.isac.cnr.it/COSTES1006_3rdWorkshop.
