Abstract
The Copernicus OC TAC, within the Copernicus Marine environment monitoring service (CMEMS) aims to provide the Ocean Colour observation data service for the Ocean at global and European regional scale. The OC Production Centre will build upon the achievements and experience acquired during the MyOcean series of projects, now a key component of the MyOcean system of systems. The project aims to ensure: 1) continuation of the MyOcean service without any degradation of product and service quality; 2) evolution of the MyOcean pre-operational system to a fully operational service compliant with Copernicus requirements; 3) adaptation of the service to the user changing needs and expectations; 4) updating of the system and products following the development of the space component of Copernicus programme and the research evolution in order to maintain the OC product at the state of the art. This service will collect multi-mission satellite data from the ground segments of space agencies. These OC satellite data will be used to generate high-quality core biogeochemical parameters essential to the monitoring the state of the marine ecosystems at short and long time scales.
Obiettivi
The OCTAC aims, to develop and manage the European Ocean colour infrastructure bridging the gap between space agencies, providing ocean colour data, to all users that need the added-value information not available from space agencies.
The OCTAC aims to generate and deliver multi sensors L3 and L4 near real time , delay time and Reprocessed biogeochemical products and INDICES covering the CMEMS regions: Global, Arctic, Baltic, North Atlantic, Mediterranean and Black Sea
