As part of the CNR's ‘Peace Table’ initiatives, a call for applications was published for 20 scholarships for graduates from the Lebanese and Palestinian scientific communities to carry out research activities at Cnr institutes.
The ‘Capacity Building’ programme is part of a larger project aimed at fostering dialogue in the Mediterranean region and assisting the peace process.
To this end, a partnership has been set up with the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), an intergovernmental organisation grouping 43 EU and Mediterranean basin countries, which is willing to support the action both by disseminating the calls in the relevant countries and by organising a synthesis table for the follow-up of the initiative. It will also endeavour to ensure that the CNR initiative can be inscribed in a broader programme, in line with the regional scientific and political priorities for Research and Innovation, as set out in the Declaration of the First UfM Conference of Research Ministers of 27 June 2022.
Moreover, an agreement has been signed with Unimed, a Universities network for intercultural dialogue and international cooperation, gathering Higher Education Institutes of 25 Countries with the objective to favour digital education, knowledge sharing and solidarity development, to support this Cnr initiative mainly in the starting phase.
The call with all the documents needed for the application are available at the following link:
https://www.cnr.it/en/international-relations
The selection is based on qualifications and supplemented with a remote digital interview. Research may concern 14 scientific areas to give the candidates as many as possible opportunities, while being in line with the R&I priorities agreed for the euro-med region.
The application for participation, drawn up in the English language and signed by hand, must be sent exclusively by ordinary email to the Cnr, at the email address: segreteria.relint@cnr.it by 30 June 2024 h. 5 pm CEST.
