«The awarding of the Nobel Prize to the physicist Giorgio Parisi makes the whole of Italy proud as well as for the National Research Council, with whom the physicist has always maintained close collaborative relationships that have continued recently with the activities carried out in association with our Nanotec Institute», declared Maria Chiara Carrozza, president of the Cnr.

«In addition to pleasing us with this extraordinary result - which just follows that of the Clarivate Citation Laureates 2021 which recognizes him as the most cited scholar in the world for scientific publications - our scientific community sincerely thanks him for his fundamental contribution in the study of disordered complex systems at the base of many research lines of the Cnr, from the study of glass systems, to lasing systems and light transmission in random media, from neural networks and AI, metabolic networks and biophysics. We often complain, and unfortunately rightly, about the many difficulties faced by the Italian research, from the scarcity of human and financial resources to bureaucratization, but this award is only the latest and extraordinary confirmation of the excellence of Italian scientific research».
