The lecture will discuss key insights from a review of empirical research on trust in AI, conducted by Ella Glikson in collaboration with Anita W. Woolley, and published in 2020 in the Academy of Management Annals. The seminar will explore issues related to the definitions of AI and explain the embodiment and pro-activeness frameworks. Focusing on the factors that influence human trust in AI, the presenter will demonstrate how an experimental design can be used to investigate questions surrounding human-AI interactions. She will also address the limitations of the experimental approach and highlight the benefits of combining methodologies to develop and test theory.
Speaker’s Brief Biography: Ella Glikson holds PhD in organizational behavior from Technion – Israeli Institute of Technology. She was a post-doctoral fellow at Tepper Business School, Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, and since 2019 she has been a faculty member at the Graduate School of Business Administration at the Bar Ilan University. Ella's research spins across three main fields – technology-mediated communication, work in global virtual teams, and human-AI interaction. Her research was published in such journals as Academy of Management Annals, Journal of World Business, Journal of Service Research, New Media and Society, Small Group Research, Computers in Human Behavior and more.
