The National School Of Optical Biosensors & Biophotonics (BiO&B) is an Italian initiative to create a platform for training, discussion and scientific exchange between young researchers working in the fields of biosensors and photonics.

BiO&B is a biennial event organized by the Biosensors Working Group of the Italian Society of Optics and Photonics (SIOF), a national branch of the European Optical Society (EOS). Each edition of BiO&B is held in a different Italian location.

During the school, the main types of biosensors, the most innovative bioreceptors and the different immobilization techniques will be described. It will also present some optical methods based on the interaction between photons and biological matter, which have applications in biomedicine, agri-food, and environmental fields.

The school is aimed at PhD students, fellows and post Doc scientists coming from Universities, Research Institutions, and private companies.
