Cultural heritage plays a key role in promoting peace, security and sustainable development concretely contributing to the resilience of societies. But the impact of natural and man made disasters made cultural heritage more vulnerable.
The 1st Conference of the Ministers of Culture of the Euro-Mediterranean region, organized by MiC (Ministero della Cultura - IT) in Naples on 16 and 17 June 2022 aims at focusing on cultural diplomacy in a strategic region for global balance. It is expected the participation of over 60 delegations representing the countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Are scheduled different sections on the following topics: protection of cultural heritage from damage generated by international crises and illicit trafficking; fight against climate change; the role of culture in sustainable development and in achieving the goals of the ONU 2030 Agenda; international mobility and the training of artists and culture professionals.
Among the many panelists Alessandra Bonazza (Cnr-Isac) as coordinator of STRENCH project is invited to talk about of the creation of concrete tools useful for public and private managers of cultural and natural heritage, in the prevention of disasters.
The purpose of the Conference is to develop joint strategies and actions to protect and enhance culture as a common good of the Euro-Mediterranean region and to launch a "Naples Process" for cultural collaboration in the Mediterranean.
