LWS - Basilicata "Creare esperienze turistiche innovative nell'area del Vulture Alto Bradano"

In the framework of H2020 BE.CULTOUR project, coordinated by the Institute for research on innovation and services for development (Iriss) of the National Research Council of Italy, a series of local workshops has been launched in November making it possible for local stakeholders (from private, public, academic and civil society) to join the local Heritage Innovation Networks.

The Community of Practice (CoP) of the project is one of the four levels of engagement in the broader Be.CULTOUR Community, set to foster regional development for sustainable and circular cultural tourism. The CoP includes heritage sites in Larnaca (Cyprus), Aragon (Spain), Basilicata (Italy), Västra Götaland (Sweden), North-East Romania (Romania) and Vojvodina Region (Serbia). These ecosystems are actively engaged in knowledge-sharing and exploitation of Be.CULTOUR approach, methodology, tools, and innovative solutions for sustainable and circular cultural tourism with the main objective to co-develop 6 Action Plans for sustainable and circular cultural tourism by establishing collaborative Heritage innovation networks.

Among the 6 local workshops coordinated by the partner ICLEI, the next event will be held in Venosa (Basilicata, Italy) on 22 November 2021, organised by the project partner Agenzia di Promozione Territoriale (APT) supported by the Matemrahub Consortium, with Cnr-Iriss as scientific mentor.

Stakeholders from the tourism, cultural, creative, agri-food and craft sectors are expected at the Pilot Heritage SiteCastello Pirro Del Balzo” for a one-day co-creation workshop on "Creating innovative tourism experiences in the Vulture Alto Bradano area". Using human-centred design methodologies, the workshop will enable local stakeholders to share common challenges and create opportunities, gain theoretical knowledge, ideate solutions and co-develop actions for circular cultural tourism in their region.
