Contaminated site remediation: Application of advanced tools to control biological processes

Dal 27/05/2013 ore 09.30 al 29/05/2013 ore 14.00

The course will be held at CNR headquarter, Piazza Aldo Moro, 7 - 00185 Rome (Day 1). The lab demonstration will take place in the premises of Water Research Institute, IRSA CNR, Area della Ricerca di Roma RM1-Via Salaria km 29,300 0015 Monterotondo (Rome).

The training course is dedicated to all seeking basic and advanced-level training on bio-tools for the characterization of microbial communities involved in biotechnological processes. This course is beneficial for practitioners, operators and researchers interested in developing or applying molecular biology related and biotechnological methods. The course will focus on selected aspects of molecular biology that provides principles for understanding the structure and function of mixed microbial communities responsible for bioremediation processes and wastewater treatment. Several molecular biology techniques will be presented and several examples of molecular applications will be highlighted. The course will be presented by internationally recognized experts in the field and during the laboratory session the course faculty will be assisted by tutors.
