COST - Action CM0901: Joint Working Group Meeting "Soot and PAHs"

Under the direction of Working group 3 of COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) Action CM0901 (Detailed Chemical Kinetic Models for Cleaner Combustion), Joint Working Group Meeting "Soot and PAHs", a scientific meeting of all the interested partners of the 5 working groups, will be held in order to more thoroughly discuss the problems related to soot and PAHs.
The purpose of the workshop is to:
- Review the current status of our understanding of soot formation mechanisms, new data and experimental methodologies, and advances in the application of soot models to solve practical problems.
- Candid discussion of areas of discrepancies and the priorities for future research.
- The definition of a plan for collaboration between the soot community in Europe.
This meeting will be composed of oral and poster presentations. Three invited lectures will be given by international experts in the field. These invited lectures will be given by Anna Ciajolo from IRC-CNR (Italy), by Árpád Palotás from University of Miskolc (Hungary) and by Angela Violi from UMICH (USA).
