Abstract

The primary objective of the Project is to support the Iranian government in the improvement of its collaborative and participatory management capacities for environmental policy formulation and implementation.
In order to achieve this objective, the following measures are planned to be undertaken by the Recipient:
o Take care of basin description and pressure analysis; contribution to the discussion of possible various scales of approach; contribution to the selection of stakeholders.
o Assessment of data and information availability/knowledge gaps in the context of a state of basin report for pilot basin
o Contribute to the Assessment of data and information availability (and relevant gaps) for the Tashk-Bakhtegan basin.
o Contribute to training and capacity building for decision-making under uncertainty, including training courses on the use of management models for water resources and on freshwater monitoring
o Contribute to training on remote sensing of marine environment, on GIS use in marine and coastal environment and on measurements of hazardous substances and biological quality elements for chemical and ecological status of marine waters.
