The deep crisis produced by the Coronavirus, including the lockdown, is changing values, expectations, life styles of citizens of Albano Laziale (40,000 inhabitants), and will dramatically change its social structure and economy. This article adresses some issues that the municipality will urgently have to face in order to arrange suitable measures before getting out of the tunnel: social problems and conflict, the role of the ruling class, urban liveability, the economy, public infrastructure, mobility, security. Some suggestions are put forward: sustain exsiting businesses, in particurlar shops and artisans, and incentivase new start-ups geared to meeting new and emerging needs; a Keynesian policy in order to maintain and modernise the existing infrastructre (roads, schools, etc.) and to sustain employment; encourage the spread of the smart working, also in view of its impact on mobility, environment and energy consumption;combat the infiltration of the organised crime through the reinforcement the role of the mayor as the coordinator of the various police forces; provide psycological and financial support to citizens and families most affected by the crisis.
