The Institute of Marine Sciences (Ismar) of Cnr (Rome, IT) coordinates the 'ocean CIRculation from ocean COLour observations' project, funded by the European Space Agency and conducted in collaboration with the Collecte Localisation Satellites (Toulouse, FR). The project aims at reconstructing the sea-surface currents from the synergy of satellite observations. CIRCOL will allow to optimize the marine currents estimates obtained from satellite altimetry using the dynamic information contained in the high resolution ocean colour fields.
