The first supplement to the corpus of Linear A inscriptions has just been published.
M. Del Freo et J. Zurbach, Recueil des inscriptions en linéaire A. Supplément 1, Études Crétoises 21.6, Athènes 2024, LXIV+256 pp. (ISBN 978-2-86958-642-0).
This new volume—which incorporates all texts discovered since 1985 and made public up to 2023—adds 107 documents and 427 signs to the corpus, bringing the total to 1,534 inscriptions and 7,574 signs. The work includes a dedicated section for dubious texts—those whose attribution to Linear A remains uncertain—and concludes with a comprehensive sign index and a series of palaeographic tables. The supplement, edited by Maurizio Del Freo (ISPC-CNR, Rome) and Julien Zurbach (ENS, Paris), continues the tradition of the Recueil des inscriptions en linéaire A, a foundational five-volume work published between 1976 and 1985 (Études Crétoises 21.1–5). By following the rigorous and consistent scholarly principles established by Jean-Pierre Olivier and Louis Godart, the new volume ensures continuity in both methodology and presentation, while significantly enriching the corpus of Linear A inscriptions.
