Profile

Degree in Chemistry cum laude (1990) and PhD in Chemical Sciences (1994) at the University of Padova (Italy). Post-doc fellow in Paris at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (1995). Visiting scientist at the University of Western Ontario (Canada) (2005-2009, 2011).
Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Padova, she has been Director of the CNR Institute of Condensed Matter Chemistry and Technologies for Energy (ICMATE) since 2014. In 2014 she was appointed committee member of the Inorganic Chemistry Division of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). She has been member of the Scientific Council (2009-2012) of the Consortium of Italian Universities for the Science and Technology of Materials (INSTM) and she has been chair of Research Units carrying out fundamental and applied research for the Italian Space Agency, the National Research Council and the Ministry of Research. She has been co-coordinator of Germany-Italy bilateral research programs (DFG-UE) and projects with industrial companies. She has been Chair of the Project "Molecular design of films and surfaces" of the CNR Department of Chemical Sciences and Materials Technology.
The scientific activity is mainly developed across the areas of inorganic chemistry, molecular systems and materials, with particular focus on the design, soft-synthesis and study of composition-structure-properties relationships of innovative metallo-supramolecular architectures, surfaces and nanosystems of interest in the fields of energetics, photonics and nanomedicine. She was awarded the Enimont Prize for Chemistry (1990) and the Ugo Croatto Prize (1995).
Publications include over 200 papers on international scientific journals and books, over 180 presentations at international and national conferences and over 30 invited lectures and specialistic seminars.
