Abstract
One-third of the overall global mortality caused by infectious diseases is a consequence of viral infections. It is therefore evident that the prospect of finding broad-spectrum antivirals that can fight multiple, diverse viruses through a common mechanism of action is surely essential. To meet this cogent call, the overreaching goal of this project is to design new labyrinthopeptins with improved antiviral therapeutical properties and discern their broad-spectrum mechanism of action.
