Abstract
HYPERGRYD addresses the multi-faceted dimensions of the optimization and enhancement of DHC by relying on 4 pillars, following a holistic approach to promote integration of smart grids, energy storage and increased share of renewable energy according to 3 main concepts: (i) high dispatchability of RES, (ii) DHC and power-to-heat solutions and contextual ICT control strategies,(iii) to produce the SHG which will allow for a significant gain in RES share of the overall demand of the urban districts. The overall ambition is then to combine innovative "hardware" (RES-based enabling technologies) solutions, specifically designed for 4th and 5th generations of DHC - including the transition from the 3rd generation - and for the integration of thermal and electric grids; with a set of software tools for DHC planning and optimization, real-time management and control of the Smart Hybrid Grids, including market and energy trading aspects.
