The Institute for research on innovation and service for development of the National research council of Italy (Cnr Iriss) is pleased to announce the 2025 edition of SUSEES - Summer School in European Education Studies, a significant training and research opportunity for young scholars from around the world. The school will take place from June 23 to 26, 2025, at the Institute of Education, University of Lisbon.
The Summer School is open to 20 emerging researchers (PhD students and/or holders) interested in strengthening their expertise in studying education policies, practices, and outcomes assuming the European dimension as the privileged point of observation. The initiative stands out for its interdisciplinary approach and innovative, dialogic learning environment.
Participants will be involved in an intensive 4-day, 30-hour module, featuring lectures from renowned international scholars who will present theories and methodological developments applied to educational research in Europe. Additionally, participants will engage with cutting-edge research approaches and advanced analytical tools. The program includes lectures, workshops on academic writing, and interactive labs focused on the public sociology of educational technology where participants will work in groups to develop a small research project.

Costs and Logistics
Participation in SUSEES 2025 is free of charge. Travel expenses are to be covered by participants, while accommodation for the duration of the school (June 23-26) will be provided by the Institute of Education, ULisboa.

Organizing Institutions and Scientific Coordination
The SUSEES 2025 Summer School is organized by the Institute of Education of the University of Lisbon and the European Educational Research Association (EERA), in cooperation with the University of Naples Federico II, Cnr Iriss, the Department of Human and Social Sciences, Cultural Heritage of the National Research Council of Italy (Cnr Dsu), Ku Leuven, and University of Strasbourg.
Scientific coordinators of the Summer School are Luís Miguel Carvalho (Institute of Eduaction, University of Lisbon), Emiliano Grimaldi (Department of Social Sciences, University of Naples Federico II), and Paolo Landri (Cnr Iriss).
