Expertise

The expertise of the Institute can be grouped in the following areas: sociological skills with particular reference to applied social research and the conduction of surveys; expertise in the analysis of social policies and welfare systems; skills in demography with different specializations, from the demographic approach to the study of social change, from the study of structural changes and the dynamics of the population to the study of geographical mobility; expertise in the subject area of migration studies (with demographic, geographic, socio-economic and socio-cultural approaches); expertise in the area of science policy and education, with particular regard to higher education; skills on the study of the relationship between science, society, and policy; skills on participatory methodologies and learning environments; skills in the studies of science communication; multidisciplinary expertise in social and computational informatics; competences in the statistics-informatics area with applications in different areas; expertise in health economics and, more in general, skills in health studies with different disciplinary contributions, from the statistical-mathematician to the medical-social; skills in gender issues and the family; skills in public opinion surveys.
