20/10/2025

The EIC Women Leadership Programme is equipping women innovators across Europe with the skills and networks to take their ventures to the next level. Among its participants is EIC Pathfinder (FET Open) awardee Silvia Scaglione, Research director at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), and founder and chief scientist at React4life. In this story, Silvia shares how the programme has helped her refine her leadership style, strengthen her communication with industry partners, and gain practical tools to grow her company, all while continuing her mission to bring more ethical and human-relevant drug testing technologies to the forefront.

Silvia took part in the 8th cohort of the EIC Women Leadership Programme, a scheme tailored to advanced entrepreneurs that provides targeted guidance in leadership and business development. Designed to equip women innovators with the skills and confidence to scale their businesses, the programme blends coaching, mentoring, training, and networking. Launched as a pilot in 2021, the initiative has already supported more than 300 female researchers and entrepreneurs across Europe. By promoting equitable representation in science and business, the programme aims not only to level the playing field, but also to unlock Europe’s full innovation potential.
