Are you ready to dive into the next frontier of materials science? The 5th International Conference on the Chemistry of 2D Materials (Chem2DMat 2026) is officially heading to the stunning coastal city of Valencia, Spain, from October 27–29, 2026!
Chem2DMat has established itself as a premier global hub for breakthrough discoveries in two-dimensional materials. This year’s scientific program covers the entire lifecycle of 2D systems—from fundamental synthesis to revolutionary real-world applications. Key thematic sessions will focus on:
· Synthesis & Processing: Exploring bottom-up growth, multiscale characterization, and synthetic 2D materials.
· Chemical Functionalization: Pushing boundaries with covalent and non-covalent modifications.
· Advanced Applications: Designing 3D functional architectures for energy conversion, harvesting, electro- and photo-catalysis, (bio-)sensing, nanomedicine, and next-generation electronics.
What truly elevates Chem2DMat 2026 is the chance to network with the pioneers shaping our field. The event features an incredible lineup of world-renowned speakers, including:
· Bettina V. Lotsch (Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, Germany)
· Nazario Martín (Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain)
· Stephan Roche (ICREA / ICN2, Spain)
· Xiaojuan Ni (The University of Arizona, USA)
· Cristina Gómez-Navarro (UAM, Spain)
Beyond the cutting-edge science, you will get to experience Valencia—a city where historic Mediterranean charm meets bold, futuristic design. Valencia's innovative landscape perfectly mirrors the forward-looking spirit of the conference.
