  • Aim: Development of a family of cardiovascular models including the possibility of remote control, suitable to be applied also in hybrid modelling for research, education and training. Methods: A remote control system (RCS) is a part of a whole cardiovascular model application that consists of two sections: the real-time section for solving equations of the system and the remote control part. The RCS was developed to communicate with real-time section of the mentioned above software for control settings and results presentation. In this study, the comparison of two ways of the remote control has been presented. The applied ways are the following: direct client-server method and Web publishing server method. In the first method, the real-time part of the model is a server. The second part of it is a special application (client) which directly communicates with the main server. In the second method the role of the server is realized by a computer with the application controlling the real-time part of the model. This server publishes the results and controls the settings of the model by using websites. Results: Both of the comparable remote control systems were successfully tested using cardiovascular model. The Web publishing server method can be also extended on the first method previously presented. Conclusion: The RCSs give a possibility of international collaboration of several medical staffs, laboratories and are very convenient in research, education and clinical application. (literal)
