Abstract
  • The development of new technological solutions and characterization techniques in the thin film optical coatings research is fundamental for many applications, as for the development of innovative instrumentation and sensors, photonics and plasmonics applications, realization of smart devices. The research activity includes theory, simulation, design, realization and characterization of advanced materials, thin films and nanostructured optical coatings of technological relevance, including macro-scale and multi-scale modeling, process modeling, performance simulation, lifetime predictions and analyses. The research will be focused on the study of the properties of materials, tested also in relevant environments, and in the development and characterization of optical devices for space instrumentation, ultrafast beam manipulation, adaptive optics and biosensors applications.
