Essential virus-host interactions in the replication, transcription and persistence of oncogenic human papillomavirus

Il 13/10/2017 ore 14.30 - 15.30

Sala Conferenze CNR, Via P. Castellino, 111 80131 Napoli

Joanna Parish fron the Institute of Cancer and Genomic Sciences, University of Birmingham (UK) will give a seminar on virus-host interactions important for the control of human papillomavirus (HPV) gene expression and HPV-induced carcinogenesis.

The main focus of Joanna Parish's research is the study of novel virus-host interactions that are important for viral pathogenesis and persistence. She has a longstanding interest in the molecular biology of HPV life cycle and uses state-of-the art model systems and technologies to study HPV replication, persistence and transcriptional control.

In particular, she is interested in the molecular mechanisms of epigenetic gene expression control of HPV and host factors that support replication of the viral genome.
