ESCAMPIG XVIII - European Conference on the Atomic and Molecular Physics of Ionised Gases

The 18th European Conference on Atomic and Molecular Physics of Ionised Gases (ESCAMPIG XVIII ) is organised by the Institute of Inorganic Methodologies and Plasmas (Bari, Rome, Potenza) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR - IMIP) and the Chemistry Department of Bari University, and under the auspices of the University of Lecce, the Polytechnic of Bari, the University of Perugia and the IFN-CNR Institute of Trento. The ESCAMPIG conference focuses on collisional and radiative aspects of atomic and molecular physics in partially ionised gases as well as on plasma surface interaction.

The conference will be held in the resort of Grand Hotel Tiziano e dei Congressi in Lecce, Italy, on July 12- 16, 2006, commencing with a reception on Wednesday evening, 12 July and ending on Sunday noon, 16 July.The conference lectures, poster sessions, meals and accommodation are all under one roof in the same conference centre such that formal and informal contacts and discussions among the conference participants will be promoted. For those attending the conference, a stay in Lecce is also an opportunity to visit the Salento region and its uncontaminated beaches.

1. Atomic and molecular processes in plasmas
2. Particle energy distribution functions
3. Discharge physics: sheaths, transport processes and modelling
4. Plasma diagnostics
5. Laser and particle beam assisted plasma processes
6. Physical basis of plasma chemistry and plasma surface interactions

Contributions reporting on experimental and theoretical studies which address both fundamental properties and applications of weakly ionized gas as well as plasma phenomena in nature are encouraged

Scientific format
The Conference will feature invited general and topical lectures, poster sessions and two workshops. Some contributed papers covering relevant issues will be selected and authors will be asked to give a short oral presentation. There will be no parallel sessions.

Abstract submission
The abstract of the conference contributions should be submitted following the guidelines and the template file that will be available in the website of the conference. All contributed papers will be refereed by the ISC committee.

Conference proceedings
Both invited and contributed papers will be issued in conference abstract book, while full papers of the invited lectures will be published in a special issue of Plasma Source Science and Technologies.

Conference fee
The fee of participants and accompanying person will be detailed at the conference website: http://escampig18.ba.imip.cnr.it. A Fee reduction will be applied to EPS members and PhD students. Look at next update on the conference website.

All participants are highly encouraged to take their lodging in the conference centre Grand Hotel Tiziano e dei Congressi.
