Dr. Annamaria Panniello (degree in Chemistry, 2006, 110/110) obtained the Ph.D. in Chemistry of Innovative Materials at University of Bari "Aldo Moro", with the thesis: "Nanocomposite Materials for photonic and environmental applications" in 2010. Since December 2017 she is temporary Staff Researcher at the Institute for Physical and Chemical Processes of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-IPCF). Her scientific activity is focused in material chemistry, aiming at the design and fabrication of oxide, semiconductor and carbon colloidal nanoparticles (NPs), their post-synthesis processing, by surface functionalization, immobilization onto proper substrates and/or their incorporation in matrices, such as polymers, epoxy resist and ionic liquids. Her expertise includes NPs synthesis, optical (UV-Vis-NIR absorption, PL emission and excitation, FT-IR spectroscopy, time resolved PL) and morphological (AFM, SEM) characterization, NPs 2D self-organization by standard deposition techniques, preparation of nanocomposite materials for photonics, optoelectronic, photo-catalytic applications, energy storage and conversion. She is and has been actively involved in the research activities of 4 EU projects (6th and 7th FP, Horizon2020), 2 Biannual bilateral programs in the framework of the cooperation agreement CNR/CNRS (Spain) and CNRST (Morocco), 3 Italian projects and 2 projects Apulia Region funded projects. She has been co-authoring of more than 25 papers, including 17 articles on international peer-reviewed journals (JCR) and more than 60 contributions to National and International Conferences, also with numerous oral communications.
